Mrs. Elsie R. Valentine, 83, of 937 N. 23rd Street, Manitowoc, died Wednesday, December 19, at her residence.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church Chapel, Manitowoc. The Rev. Bruce Hanstedt will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Valentine, nee Elsie R. Ely, was born July 16, 1901, at Hixton, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Harmon and Emma VanGordon Ely. She married Arthur C. Valentine and he preceded her in death in 1971. Mrs. Valentine had been employed by Koutnik & Schwartz and also by McNeil's in Manitowoc. Mrs. Valentine was a member of the Naomi circle and the First Lutheran Church Women and also Manitowoc Senior Citizens.
Survivors include a son and a daughter-in-law, Ronald and Shirley Valentine of Marshfield, Wisconsin; a brother and a sister-in-law, Harold and Thelma Ely of Cheack, Wisconsin and three grandchildren, Kurt, Nancy and John. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Ely.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 6 o'clock to 9 o'clock this Friday evening and at the church from Saturday noon until the time of service.
