HOWARD J. UNDERBERG

Howard J. Underberg, 64, of 411 N. Fifth St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday afternoon
at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral
Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Norval W. Kock will officiate with burial in Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Underberg was born Jan. 4, 1912, at Milwaukee, son of the late George and
Clara Hubus Underberg. He was reared in the Manitowoc area and attended Manitowoc
schools. Mr. Underberg was an army veteran of World War II. He received the
Asiatic Pacific Theater ribbon with a bronze battle star. He was employed at
Northeastern Insulation Co. and later at Triangle Oil Co., Manitowoc, retiring
in 1970. He was a member of First German Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Emily Underberg, and
a sister, Mrs. Ruth Kluczinske, of Manitowoc and a nephew, Howard Kluczinske,
and wife, Linda, and children, Christine, Kevin and Kurt.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home from 6 to 9 o’clock this
Wednesday evening and Thursday until the time of service. Memorials may be made
to First German Evangelical Lutheran Building Fund or charity of the donor’s
choice.
