Mrs. John Turek, 53, died early Friday evening at her home, 521 N.
10th St., Manitowoc, after a lingering illness.
Funeral rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. at the Urbanek and Schlei
Funeral Home, Manitowoc, the Rev. L.H. Koeninger officiating.
Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Turek, the former Laura Opperman, was born in Ashland in 1898,
and was married in 1915 at Ironwood, Mich. The Tureks settled at
Ashland, and in 1922 moved to Manitowoc.
Survivors are her husband, four daughters, Mrs. Arnold Messman of
Two Rivers, Mrs. Rudolph Dilley of Spokane, Wash., and Mrs. Adolph
Ziarnik and Mrs. Richard Scroggins of Manitowoc; two sons, Edward
of Manitowoc and A 1/c John Jr., of Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph
Rivett of Milwaukee and Mrs. Fred Rundgren of Ashland, and four
grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after noon on Sunday. The G.U.G.
Germania Society will hold memorial services at 7 p.m. Sunday at the
funeral home.
