Mr. Bert C. Truttschel, 74, of 928 N. 6th Street, Manitowoc, died Sunday morning, November 4, at his residence.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Jens Funeral Home. The Rev. Gerald Schrankler will officiate with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Truttschel was born May 15, 1910, at Manitowoc, son of the late Arthur and Bertha Ludwig Truttschel. He attended schools in Manitowoc. Mr. Truttschel was employed at Manitowoc Engineering Company as a Tool & Die Maker, retiring in 1963. Mr. Truttschel was a former director of Manitowoc Marine Band for 20 years. He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ, a choir director for many years. Member of Manitowoc Masonic Lodge Number 65, Manitowoc Chapter Number 16, Manitowoc Musician's Association Number 195, Member of United Commercial Travelers, a Senior Citizen, former member of Police & Fire Commission in the late 1950's and a member of Eagles Aeries Number 706. He married the former Carolyn Boeckman on December 9, 1950, at Manitowoc, residing here since.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; a son, Randy of Manitowoc; a brother and a sister-in-law, Paul and Mary Agnes Truttschel of Jacksonville, Florida; cousins, nieces and nephews also survived. He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service. Masonic Memorial Service at 8 p.m. Tuesday conducted by the past Worshipful Kenneth Hendrick. Memorials may be made to St. Johns Church Choir.
