Harold E. Thomley, age 86, of 2237 Knuell St., Manitowoc, died Friday morning,
March 30, 2007, at River’s Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.
Harold was born on Nov. 22, 1920, at Superior, Wis., son of the late Ben and
Ella Rockway Thomley. He graduated from Superior Central High School in 1993.
Harold was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1947.
He served as a special agent with the C.I.C. (Counter Intelligence Corps)
Stationed in Bremerhaven, Germany. He married the former Geraldine Gadzinski
on June 29, 1948. They celebrated 58 years of marriage. He was employed as a
machinist journeyman and specialist at Manitowoc Engineering Co. for 42 years,
retiring in 1983. He was a member of the I.A.M. machinist union. Harold enjoyed
traveling and visited 49 states, but never wanted to see Alaska. A European
tour and two trips to England, Canada, and Mexico were some of his favorite
travels.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Carol.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, April 2, 2007, at the
Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 1122 South Eighth st., Manitowoc, Deacon
Alan Boeldt will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home
from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at
Evergreen Cemetery. Military graveside services will be accorded by VFW Otto
Oas Post No. 659.
