Eldon W. Tegen, age 78, of 1258 Arlingotn Ave., Manitowoc, died Sunday, December 4,
1994, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 7, 1994, at Rockwood
Evangelical Lutheran Church. Rev. Rodney Rixe will officiate with burial to
follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
He was born November 15, 1916, at Manitowoc, son of the late Gustave and Emma
Mattheias Tegen. He grew up in the township of Kossuth and attended Rockwood
Public School. He farmed in the township of Kossuth, on the home farm, until
1978. He also worked for the Manitowoc Health Care Center, for 20 years, retiring
in 1981. After his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family, playing
cards and helping on his son's farm. He was married to Dorothy V. Nisleit, October 5,
1946, at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. He was a member of the
Rockwood Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Manitowoc Senior Citizens.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; three sons, Roy Tegen, Manitowoc, John Tegen,
on the home farm in the township of Kossuth and his special friend, Kristy Wagner,
Tim Tegen, Two Rivers and his special friend, Pam Behring; three daughters and one
son-in-law, Anna Mattney, Fremont, Calif., Dorothy and Tom Duchow, rural Brillion,
Mary Tegen, Carmichael, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Norman
(Violet) Tegen, Independence, Iowa. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives
and friends. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Norman, Harold and Walter.
Friends may call at the Reinbold Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday
and Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.
Memorials would be appreciated to the Manitowoc Lutheran High School or Rockwood
Evangelical Lutheran Church.
