William G. (Happy) Swokowski, 88, formerly of 932 N. 13th St., Manitowoc, died
Tuesday morning, September 6, 1988, at the home of his son and daughter-in-law,
Bill and Gwen Swokowski where he made his home since 1967.
Funeral services (illegible) Thursday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at
Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Leo Schmitt will officiate
at the Mass of Christian Burial and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery,
Manitowoc.
Mr. Swokowski was born April 12, 1900, at Manitowoc, son of the late Frank and
Anna Bierle Swokowski. He married Agnes Anna Reindle, May 8, 1926, at Waukegan,
Illinois. The couple celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1976. Happy
was employed for The Board of Education City of Manitowoc for 23 years as a
Custodian at the former McKinley School, retiring in 1966. He was a member of
Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes who resides at the home of his son and daughter-
in-law of Manitowoc; a son and daughter-in-law, William B. and Gwendoline Swokowski
of Manitowoc; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Margaret and John Johnsrud of
Manitowoc and Mrs. Erma Gauthier Boehm of Manitowoc; nieces; nephews; a special
friend, Beatrice VanDeurgen of Manitowoc. He was preceded in death by three
brothers, John, Frank and George, three sisters, Theresa Drill, Anna Budnik and
Clara Swokowski.
There will be no Wednesday evening visitation at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc.
