Leon T. (Duke) Sweeney, age 77, formerly of 1431 N. 16th St., Manitowoc, died
Tuesday, September 7, 1999, Lancaster Care Center, Lancaster, Wis.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday September 13, 1999, at the
Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory. Officiating will be Rev. William Plank.
Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery.
Leon was born February 28, 1922, in Lancaster, Wis., son of the late Leon Sr.
and Febiola Harvieux Sweeney. He served in the United States Army. He married
Edith Cizek, on June 4, 1949, Waukegan, Ill. She preceded him in death in 1991.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ted and Diane Sweeney, Texas,
Jeff and Lisa Sweeney, Rhinelander; two grandchildren, McKenna Sweeney, Texas,
Julia Sweeney, Rhinelander; one brother, Don Sweeney, Lancaster. Besides his
parents and wife, Edith, he was preceded in death by one brother, Earl.
The Jens Family Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with funeral
arrangements.
