died on Tuesday afternoon, April 13, 2010, at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center,
Manitowoc.
He was born on Jan. 13, 1929, in Manitowoc, son of the late Lee and Matilda
Sturm. John was a Veteran of the United States Army. On Sept. 5, 1953, he
married the former Dorothy Snow at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. She
preceded him in death on Oct. 5, 1981. John was employed with Kelvinator and
then started with Manitowoc Public Utilities on Feb. 3, 1958, until his
retirement.

He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter: Michelle Lea and a sister:
Carol Sturm.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010, at St.
Francis of Assisi on Marshall, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian
Burial with his cremated remains present will be the Rev. Daniel Schuster.
Cremation has occurred at All-Care Cremation Center. John’s cremated remains
will be laid to rest following the Mass of Christian Burial at Evergreen cemetery,
Manitowoc. Graveside Military Rites will be accorded by VFW Otto Oas Post No.
659.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall,
Manitowoc, from 9 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010, until the time of service.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home & All-Care Cremation Center, Manitowoc, is assisting
the family with funeral arrangements.

Survivors include a son: John (Jack) Sturm Jr.; two daughters and sons-in-law: Lori and Randy Mrotek, Ann and Doug Duescher, all of Manitowoc; seven grandchildren: Joseph Sturm, David Sturm, Melissa (Brian) Schild, Tanya Mrotek, Michael (Misty) Mrotek, Brian Goessl, Christian (Doug) LaPalm; and ten great-grandchildren: Tristne, Brooklyn, Sedona, Kyra, David, Randal, Isaiah, Zachary, Tyler and Autumn. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
