MURIEL STRAUSS

Muriel M. Strauss, age 76, of 924 N. 13th St., Manitowoc, died peacefully Sunday morning, Dec. 21, 2003, at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Gerald Foley with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. She was born May 19, 1927, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Leo and Clara Krahn Kluczinske. On April 15, 1950, she married Ralph Strauss at St. Mary Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. Muriel was employed with the United States government during her husband's Army tour. She was also actively involved in Girl Scouts for more than 50 years. Muriel was the recipient of the Thanks Badge and Thanks Badge II, the highest honor bestowed in girl scouting. She was affectionately known as "Tooter - The Cookie Mom." She was a member of the Christian Women of Holy Innocents Catholic Church and the Manitowoc Chapter of EAA. Survivors include her husband: Ralph Strauss, Manitowoc; three sons and daughters-in-law: Daniel F. Strauss, Green Bay; Jeffrey J. and Sandra Strauss, Clarks Mills; CWO2 Andrew R., USMC, and Nicole Strauss, Quantico, Va.; two daughters and sons-in-law: Susan M. and David Rozmarynoski, Manitowoc; Amy Clara and Allan Kanugh, Manitowoc; 10 grandchildren: Kurt, Lindsay and Andrew Rozmarynoski; Samantha, Katelyn and Cassandra Strauss; Elizabeth Kanugh; Carissa, Alexis and Connor Strauss; and a sister-in-law: Ruth Kluczinske, Manitowoc. Also surviving are nieces and nephews, including a special niece: Cynda Post and her husband: Elwood and family, Arizona; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Rosemary Strauss, Manitowoc; Rosalie and Dr. Jerry Dragovich, Washington; Therese Strauss, Manitowoc; Bob and Lucille Strauss, Manitowoc; Lorraine Strauss, Manitowoc; Sylvester and Shirley Strauss, Manitowoc; and Shirley and Doug Emond, Mishicot. She was also preceded in death by a brother: Ruhl Kluczinske; two sisters: Gertrude Teske and Evangeline Walters; five brothers-in-law: Harold Strauss; Wilbert Strauss and his wife: Geraldine; Bill Strauss; LeRoy Strauss and his first wife: Mildred; and Francis Strauss; two sisters-in-law: Viola Hebert and Judy Schaller and her husband, Pete; two nephews: David Walters and Bill Kluczinske; and a great-nephew: Tim Post. The family will greet relatives and friends at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc, from 9 a.m. Friday until the time of service at 11 a.m. The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Giriyappa and the doctors and special nurses of the Neuro ICU and IMICU at St. Vincent Hospital for their compassionate care.
