Edna Sieber, age 93, of 419 S. 30th St., Manitowoc, died Friday evening, Sept. 22, 2006 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3209 Meadow Lane, Manitowoc. The Revs. Robert Kujawski and Stephen Melso will officiate, with burial to follow at Evergreen cemetery. The former Edna Pohlman was born Feb. 2, 1913, in Des Plaines, Ill., daughter of the late William and Caroline Russell Pohlman. She grew up in Mt. Prospect, Ill., and was a 1932 graduate of Maine Township High School. On Aug. 29, 1936, she married Reuben J. Sieber at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. Reuben preceded her in death on Oct. 1, 1993. Edna was one of the five living charter members of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church. Survivors include one sister: Erna Grubenau of Arlington Heights, Ill.; two special cousins and their husbands: Shirley (Howard) Schmill of Manitowoc, and Carrie (Ralph) Feyersen of Manitowoc; other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Reuben; one son: Russel; one brother: Ralph Pohlman; and one sister: Caroline Pohlman. Relatives and friends may call at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Memorial donations would be appreciated for the Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Grade School Wish List or the Manitowoc Lutheran High School Tuition Assistance Fund.
