Gladys E. Sell, age 96, formerly of 1113 North Sixth Street, Manitowoc, died
Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001 at St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc.
A Memorial Service was held at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2001 at First Lutheran
Church Chapel, Manitowoc. The Rev. Steven Olson officiated with Burial taking
place at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Gladys was born May 6, 1905 in Stevens Point, Wis., daughter of the late Alfred P.
and Olena I. Simonson Lewis. Gladys attended schools in Stevens Point, and
graduated from Stevens Point High School. She was a member of the clerical staff
of the Valley Electric Company in Stevens Point. Gladys married Alfred F. Sell
Aug. 14, 1926 in Lakeland, Fla.; he preceded her in death in 1964. She was a
member of First Lutheran Church, and former member of Eastern Star.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Richard L. and Bonnie Sell,
Manitowoc, Frederick and Veronica Sell, Wasilla, Alaska; one sister, Ruth Berger,
Stanford, Conn.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews,
other relatives and friends also survive. Besides her parents and husband Alfred,
Gladys was preceded in death by one grandson; three brothers one son-in-law.
The Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory assisted the family with funeral
arrangements.
