LOUISE SCHWANTZ

Mrs. Gustave Schwantz, 83, of 706 Chicago St., Manitowoc, lifelong resident
of the city and county, died Monday night at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc,
following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First German Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. L. H. Koeninger will officiate and burial
will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Schwantz was born Louise Strathman in Kossuth in 1870 and in 1891 was
married to Schwantz. They located in Manitowoc. Her husband died in 1938.
Survivors are a son, Emil of Manitowoc; five daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Granzow
of California, Mrs. George Fritsch, Mrs. Alvin Grall, Miss Hattie of Manitowoc
and Mrs. Jack Lamb of Detroit; 13 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 3 p.m.
Wednesday. The casket will be moved to the church at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Mrs. Jack (Augusta E.) Lamb, 78, of 1709 Meadowbrook Dr., Manitowoc, died Monday
afternoon, July 7, 1986 at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc. Memorial services will
be 7 pm Wednesday at Reinbold and Pfeffer Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home,
Manitowoc. The Rev. William B. Plank will officiate. Mrs. Lamb's body has been
donated to University of Wisconsin.
Mrs. Lamb was born Dec. 22, 1907, in the town of Gibson, Manitowoc County, daughter
of the late Gustave and Louise Strattman Schwantz. She grew up and was educated
at Manitowoc and for a number of years had been employed at Wisconsin Telephone
Company in Manitowoc. She was married to Jack Lamb Dec. 7, 1935 at Manitowoc. For
14 years they resided in Detroit, Michigan and for 15 years at St. Clair Shores,
Michigan. Mrs. Lamb was a Manitowoc resident since 1974. The couple celebrated
their 50th Wedding Anniversary in December of 1985.
Survivors include her husband, Jack; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Grall and Miss Hattie
Schwantz of Manitowoc; nieces and nephews include Kenneth and Anna Mae Grall,
Margaret Grall, Grace and Joseph Koral, Louise Smith, George Frisch and Donald
and Mary Frisch. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Art, Burt and Emil
Schwantz.
Visitation for family and friends will be held after 6 pm Wednesday at Reinbold
and Pfeffer Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials to
American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
