Mrs. William Schwantes, 88, of 1422 N. 10th St., Manitowoc, died Monday morning
at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral
Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Richard Schmitz will officiate and burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Schwantes, nee Emma Kazda, was born March 17, 1880, in the Town of Gibson,
daughter of the late Albert and Katherine Zaruba Kazda. She was married to
William Schwantes Nov. 1, 1904, at Manitowoc, where they owned and operated
Schwantes Mfg. Co. where she also served as bookkeeper and secretary for the
firm. Mr. Schwantes preceded her in death in February, 1954. She was a member
of the Pythian Sisters, Badger Temple 46.
Survivors include a son, Albert, of Manitowoc; a daughter, Miss Wilma, of
Manitowoc; and nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the funeral home, N. Ninth Street entrance, after 3 p.m.
Tuesday until the time of service.
