Marvin R. Schultz, age 82, formerly of 908 S. 20th St., Manitowoc. While he worked on engines, competed as a driver, or observed as a avid fan, racing was in his blood. The race is over and by the grace of God through faith in Christ Jesus, Marv was given the checkered flag in the race for life. Early Thursday evening, June 26, 1997, he joined Nora in the victory circle in Heaven. His family and friends will celebrate the victory on Monday, June 30, 1997.Marvin was born December 19, 1914, at Two Rivers, son of the late Alvin and Florence Sweetman Schultz. He married to Nora B. Mueller on August 30, 1941, at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Nora preceded him in death on April 29, 1997. Marvin worked for Manitowoc Engineering, retiring in 1977. Marvin lived in Manitowoc most of his life. He was a member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, a longtime member of the Immanueal Men's Club, and served on the Board of Education. He was also a longtime member of the Machinists Local #516 of Manitowoc.Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Dion (Butch) and Sandi Schultz, Manitowoc, Dale and Phyllis Schultz, Two Rivers, James C. Schultz, Manitowoc, and his special friend Sandy Skubal; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jana Lea and Ron Olm, Appleton, Jalaine and Rev. James Naumann, Vasar, Mich.; 17 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; one brother, Joseph Schultz, Manitowoc; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Esther and Corwain Luebke, Two Rivers, Ruth Leschke, Manitowoc. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by one infant brother, Kenneth.Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, June 30, 1997, at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc, on Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1:30 p.m.Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church.
