Helen M. Schroeder, age 82, a Manitowoc resident, died Sunday, January 28, 2001,
at Holy Family Memorial Medical Ceneter, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 2, 2001, at St. Andrew
Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Camillus Janas O.F.M. will officiate at the Mass
of Christian Burial with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Helen was born July 26, 1918, at Manitowoc, daughter of the late Frank and Katherin
Svoboda Michal. She grew up and was educated at Manitowoc and graduated with the
class of 1936 from Lincoln High School, Manitowoc. She married John M. Schroeder
on January 21, 1939, at First Presbyterian Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in
death on September 13, 1994. They enjoyed 55 plus years together. She was a member
of St. Andrew Cathlic Church, Manitowoc. Helen was concerned for the humane
treatment of all animals. She was a warm and loving person to her family, friends
and animals. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include one son, Richard J. Schroeder, Cottesloe, western Australia,
Australia (sic); one granddaughter, Erica (Richard) Ward, Colorado Springs, Colo.;
one brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Adaline Michael, Manitowoc; sister-in-law,
Elaine Konecny, Manitowoc; brother-in-law, Paul Sammon, Two Rivers; two special
friends, Vivian Endries and Ethel Frieder, both of Manitowoc nieces, nephews, other
relatives and close friends in the United States as well as Australia also survive.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Anne Last.
Relatives and friends may call at St. Andrew Catholic Church from 9:30 a.m. Friday
until the time of service at 1030 a.m.
