Henry C. F. Schimpf (sic), 96, former Manitowoc resident, died at Lakeland,
Fla., according to messages received here from his daughter, Mrs. Dora E.
Gideon.
The body is to be brought to Manitowoc for burial and will arrive Thursday
afternoon. It may be viewed between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. at the Wattawa, Urbanek
and Schlei funeral home, after which services will be held. Interment will be
in Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. Schimpf was born in Germany in 1946 and came here with his parents when a
boy. He attended school here and became an apprentice in the Kuhl harness shop.
When a young man he opened his own business in Neenah and married Helen von
Eisenach there.
As a result of real estate investments in Florida he spent much of his later
years in that state. He made three trips to his old home in Germany.
