SOPHIE SCHNEIDER

Death Tues., following several years of illness, of Mrs. Caroline Schneider in the
residence of her daughter Mrs. J.A. Williams on South 8th St. The deceased was born
in Germany in 1838 and came to America with her parents in 1852, the family settling
in Town Newton in 1854. Mrs. Schneider has been a resident of Manitowoc for the
last 20 years. She leaves 5 children. Her funeral will be held this afternoon.

(Note: Sophia is the only Schneider in Evergreen who died in 1902. This is a
judgement call..it's possible her name is Caroline Sophia or Sophia Caroline. I found
this in co. pre-1907 deaths Sophie...1 Sep. 1902...v.7 p.94)

(Note:The person who purchased the lot was LuLu Schneider (according to
cemetery records), who later married John Yaeger. Lulu and Katherine
(Schneider) Williams, who is also buried on the lot, were sisters.)
(relative says correct spelling of her name is Schneider/Caroline Seiler is
also listed as married to Johann Schneider in co. mar. records)
