John C. Roepke, age 81, a former resident of 1751 Lilac Drive, Manitowoc,
entered into eternal life on Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at North Ridge Medical
and Rehabilitation Center in Manitowoc.
John was born on Oct. 26, 1928, in Newton, to the late Edwin and Erna
Kieselhorst Roepke. On Oct. 26, 1957, John married Marleen Koutsky at Bethany
Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. He was employed with the White House
Milk Company for 33 years, and finished his working career at Manitowoc
Shipbuilding. John enjoyed spending his time bowling, working outdoors and
being with his family and friends. He was a member of the Manitowoc Seagull
Club and Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Marleen; one son: Steven (Darlene) Roepke,
Manitowoc; one daughter: Susan Roepke, Manitowoc; two grandsons: Joshua Roepke and
Willard Dorsett; one sister-in-law: Kathleen Tadych, Manitowoc; also nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by two brothers:
Edwin and Herman; five sisters: Deloris, Erna, Dorothy, Micky and Lorraine.
According to John's wishes, a private memorial service will be held at the Harrigan
Parkside Crematory Chapel.
The Rev. Paul Schossow will officiate with burial of his cremated remains to follow
at Evergreen Cemetery.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets,
Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
