Elmer Rodney Dies of Injuries
Elmer A. Rodney, 51, of ___ Chicago St., became Manitowoc County's fifth auto
accident fatality of 1955 when he died at 9:__ a.m. Friday is Holy Family
Hospital of a cerebral hemorrhage.
Rodney was fatally injured the night of Saturday, May 7. County traffic police
said his car ran off Highway 131 just west of the junction with Highway 141 and
struck a tree.
The car was demolished. Rodney suffered a severe brain concussion, scalp lacer-
ations, neck and skull fractures. He told county traffic police he was forced
off the road by an oncoming car. Rodney remained in a semi-conscious state until
his death.
Funeral services for Rodney will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Pfeffer Funeral
Home. The Rev. Paul Blaufuss will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery.
He was born at Silver Lake Oct. 13?, 1903, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Martin
Rodney. On Aug. 7, 19__, he married Miss Mayme _audinger. He had been employed
at the yards of the Manitowoc Shipbulding Inc.
Surviving are his wife; son, Donald of Manitowoc; two daughters, Mrs. Harold
Gulickson of Chilton and Mrs. Joseph ___man of Milwaukee; and four grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.
