EDWARD F. RINGMEIER

Farmer Dies of Injuries
A 61-year-old rural Manitowoc man died Thursday night of injuries sustained
in a farm accident.
Edward Ringmeier was found by his son, Roger, of Rt. 4, (Logwood Lane),
Manitowoc, in a hayfield where the senior Ringmeier who had been chopping hay
went to unhook the haywagon from a tractor.
The tractor has a hand clutch, and it was in a forward gear. Edward Ringmeier
thought it was in reverse and pushed on the clutch. The tractor lurched forward,
knocked him to the ground and ran over him twice before it went into a tight
circle and stopped.
The accident happened about 3:30 p.m. and Ringmeier was found by his son about
7 p.m. Manitowoc Ambulance Service was summoned about 7:30 p.m. and Ringmeier
was removed to Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Manitowoc County Coroner James E. Powers notified the Manitowoc County Sheriff
Traffic Dept. that Ringmeier died at 8:59 p.m. from massive internal injuries.
