Mrs. Joseph (Esther) B. Renier, 68, of 915 S. 37th Street, Manitowoc, died Tuesday afternoon, February 19, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. William B. Plank will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Renier was born January 21, 1917, at Loveland, Colorado, daughter of the late Jacob and Mollie Bauming Borgens. She grew up and was educated in Colorado and then living for a short time in California, then moving to Menominee, Michigan and then to Manitowoc in 1952. She was a waitress at Dick & Ann's Restaurant in Manitowoc for 20 years, retiring in 1983. She married Joseph F. Renier on January 10, 1943, at San Diego, California. Mr. Renier was a member of First Presbyterian Church and the Lydia Circle of the church. Mrs. Renier was a former Sunday school teacher.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph; a son, Joseph M. Renier of Tucson, Arizona; three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Ruth) Heinz of Raleigh, North Carolina, Mrs. Eugene (Susan) Hynek of Manitowoc and Helen Renier of Hamilton, Ohio; two brothers, Raymond Borgens of Hill City, Minnesota and Elmer Borgens of Mercedes, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Foster of Loveland, Colorado and Mrs. Raymond (Helen) Meier of Wiggins, Colorado and eight granddaughters, LeeRae, Beth, Heidi, Sara, Tammy, Leslie, Tavianna and Allison. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Pfeffer and Reinbold Funeral Home, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday afternoon and Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
