ALICE POLLOCK

Alice M. Pollock, age 89, a Green Bay resident, formerly of 2305 Knuell Street, Manitowoc, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 27, 2004, at the Harmony Assisted Living Facility in Green Bay. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Gerald Foley at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc, Friday, July 2, 2004, at 10 a.m. Burial of her cremated remains will be at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Alice was born in Manitowoc on Jan. 10, 1915, to the late Anton and Clara Sydow Rysticken. She was a lifelong resident of Manitowoc and graduated with the Lincoln High School class of 1933. Alice was the class valedictorian and editor of the Flambeau. She was also a class officer in her junior and senior years. After graduating from high school, Alice attended the Manitowoc Business College and was then employed at the Household Finance Corporation and later at the Manitowoc Business College. On Nov. 8, 1934, she married David T. Pollock. The couple celebrated 63 years of married life together before David's death on March 5, 1998. Alice's hobbies included reading, Scrabble and crossword puzzles. She also collected antique china and pewter. Alice loved to work in her flower borders. Twice she received the "Yard of the Month" award. She was a member of Holy Innocents Catholic Church. Survivors include two sons and three daughters-in-law: Tom and Pat Pollock of Green Bay, Michael and Christine Pollock of Kentfield, Calif., and Ann Pollock of Manitowoc; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a son, David A. Pollock, and one brother, Harry Rysticken. Friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 628 N. Water St., Manitowoc, Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m., and Friday at Holy Innocents Catholic Church from 9 a.m. until time of Mass at 10 a.m. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m., led by Deacon Paul Kieffer. The family wishes to thank Dr. Thomas Rauschenberger for his dedicated care of their mother while in Manitowoc. A special thank you to the Rev. Gerald Foley and deacons Paul Kieffer and Kenneth Nelesen for their comforting visits. The family also wishes to thank Dr. Jeremy Green, Unity Hospice and Harmony Assisted Living, for their dedicated care while Alice was in Green Bay.
