ELOUISE LOIS PFEFFER

Elouise L. Pfeffer, age 59, of 1409 S. 24th St., Manitowoc, passed away early
Saturday morning, Aug. 5, 2006, with her family at her side, after a courageous
battle with cancer.
Elouise was born on June 17, 1947, in Ironwood, Mich., daughter of LeVerne E.
Goucher and the late Russell C. Buehl. She was a 1965 graduate of Manitowoc
Lincoln High School, and a 1966 graduate of the Accredited School of Beauty
Culture, Milwaukee. She was employed with the Vogue Beauty Salon, Manitowoc,
for many years. Elouise established her own Salon on Aug. 1, 1981, known as
New Image, celebrating 25 years in business. She also operated Paradise Tours,
for the past 10 years. The people of the New Image and Paradise Tours were more
than friends-they were like her family. She was a former member of the board of
directors for the American Canceer Society; a TPA member; a member of the
Manitowoc Senior Center; and a life member of the VFW Auxiliary, Manitowoc.
Elouise enjoyed playing cards and their many casino trips.
Elouise married Thomas Gadzinski in 1990, and he preceded her in death. She
later married Leonard Pfeffer on May 19, 1997, at St. Francis Catholic Church,
Hollandtown. The Rev. Stan "Tom" Browne officiated.
Survivors include her husband: Leonard C. Pfeffer, Manitowoc; two sons: Billy Ackley and special friend, Stephanie Walker, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Ryan Ackley, Manitowoc; and her mother: LaVerne Goucher, Manitowoc. She is further survived by a brother and sister-in-law: Jesse and Kathy Jones, Random Lake; a sister: Elaine McGregor, Green Bay; also surviving are Leonard's children: Steven Pfeffer and his wife Beth, and Judy Davidson and her husband Dr. William; a brother-in-law: Roy Pfeffer, Manitowoc; a sister-in-law: Marilyn Pfeffer, Manitowoc; and lifelong friend: Robert Krajnek of Manitowoc. She is further survived by special friends: Esther Behnke and Sue Vogt both of Manitowoc. Nieces nephews, other relatives and many close friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by a brother: David Buehl; three aunts: Lois Pierce,
Doris Kanter, Elaine Jankowski; an uncle: Arley Buehl; a brother-in-law: Clyde
Pfeffer: and a sister-in-law: Eileen Pfeffer.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation
Care Center, Manitowoc, from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006. A prayer service
will conclude the visitation at 8 p.m. led by Deacon Robert Drobka.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006, at the
Pfeffer Funeral Home at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall Street,
Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Jim
VandenHogen with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
A memorial fund has been established in Elouise's name.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. (private) and all the
members of her staff at the Holy Family Memorial Cancer Unit as well as the Holy
Family Hospice staff for their compassionate care.
