Edgar J. Pfeffer, 75, of 515 Waldo Blvd., Manitowoc, died early Monday morning, May 2, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Daniel J. Felton will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Pfeffer was born Aug. 26, 1907, in the Town of Franklin, Manitowoc County, son of the late Joseph and Ida Hoyer Pfeffer. He grew up and was educated in the Town of Franklin and married Mayme V. Grall Oct. 14, 1925, at St. Michael Catholic Church, Whitelaw. Mr. Pfeffer was a dairy farmer until moving to Manitowoc in 1951, and he had been employed with Hamann Construction Company for 30 years from 1942 until his retirement in 1972. Mr. and Mrs. Pfeffer celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1975. He was a member of Holy Innocents Catholic Church and the local chapter of Izaac Walton League of America.
Survivors include his wife, Mayme, a son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Shelby Pfeffer of Manitowoc; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gwendolyn and Leo Denor of Route 1, Cato, and Elaine and Joseph Kupsh of Two Rivers; a sister, Mrs. Grace Jaeger of Two Rivers, 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Two brothers, Earl and Herbert, and a sister, Helen, preceded him in death.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Pfeffer and Reinbold Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. A prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. by Deacon Don Gigure.
