Mrs. John (Marcella) "Marcie" Pekarek, 2133 Oak St., died this morning at St. Michael's Hospital where she had been a patient one day. She had been in ill health for a number of years. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic church. The Rev. Lyle Schulte will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Friends may call after 4 pm Thursday at Dzikoski Funeral Home. St. Ann's Society of St. Joseph Parish and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, of which she was a member, and Monsignor McGinley Council No. 1170, Knights of Columbus, of which her husband is a member will combine with the general rosary at 7:30 pm.
Mrs. Pekarek was born in Oshkosh, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kloiber. She attended schools in Oshkosh, including two years at Oshkosh Business College. She was employed at Kalamazoo Furnace Co., in Oshkosh for a number of years. She also served as secretary for a number of years for Green Bay Apostolate, a social service agency of the Diocesan of Catholic Charities.
She married John Pekarek Jan. 6, 1951 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Appleton. The couple settled in Chicago until moving to Stevens Point in 1953. She taught business school courses here at the vocational school.
Survivors include her husband, one daughter, Mariclare Pekarek, 1932C Strongs Ave., five sisters, Sister Rosalinda, Oneida; Sister Ambrosine and Sister Marilyn of Manitowoc, Mrs. Ann Fuchs, Oshkosh and Mrs. Ray (Dorothy) Schani, Oshkosh; one brother, Joseph Kloiber, Oshkosh and one granddaughter. Three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
