Mr. Christian E. (Ket) Peitersen, 77, of 1510 New York Avenue,
Manitowoc, beloved husband, father, and grandpa, died Tuesday evening,
July 16, 1991, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran
Church. Rev. Glenn Unke will officiate with burial at Evergreen
Cemetery, Manitowoc.
He was born September 24, 1913, in Oconto, Wis., son of the late
Christian and Marie Nelson Peitersen. He attended schools in Oconto and
graduated from the high school in 1931. He came to Manitowoc and was
employed at Dunnings Grocery Store as Store Manager, retiring in 1971.
He later was employed at Imperial Clevite, retiring in 1978. For 20
years he was also a Fuller Brush person. He was an avid golfer and a
member of Meadow Links Golf Association. He married the former Adeline
Dickert on March 20, 1939, in Manitowoc. The couple celebrated their
50th Wedding Anniversary in 1989. He was a member of Immanuel
Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Adeline; a son and daughter-in-law, Kent and
Mary Ann Peitersen of Manitowoc; two special grandsons, Wade and Brett
of Manitowoc; a brother and three sisters-in-law, Ervin and Eleanore
Peitersen of Oconto Falls, Wis., Mrs. Louise Peitersen of Waukesha, Mrs.
Lou-Orr Peitersen of Capetown South Africa; a sister, Esther Olson of
San Jose, Calif.; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three
brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and
Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
