Mrs. Hilda Peebles, 91, of 1522A South 9th Street, Manitowoc, died Thursday, November 28 at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc. Memorial services will be 1 pm Saturday at Jens Funeral Home and Crematory, Manitowoc. Rev. Robert Hays will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, with cremation to be taking place.
Mrs. Peebles was born December 25, 1893 in Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Frederick and Anna Koehler Beck. She attended schools in the Manitowoc area. Mrs. Peebles was employed in the Accounting Department of Paul Cheese Company for 40 years, retiring in 1957. She married E.J. Peebles on June 22, 1957 at Chicago. The couple returned here to reside in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death in 1975. Mrs. Peebles was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Family Service, Order of the Eastern Star and R.S.V.P.
Survivors include a step-daughter, Florinel Metcalf of Sacramento, California; cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, six brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 11 am Saturday to the time of services. There will be no Friday evening visitation.
