JULIA M. PEDERSON

Julia M. Pederson, age 79, of Valders, died Sunday evening, November 17, 1996,
at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, November 21, 1996, at St. Mary's
Catholic Church, Clarks Mills. Rev. John Conrad will officiate with burial in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born January 2, 1917, at Grimms, Wis., daughter of the late Thomas S.
and Nora Buckley Welch. She atteneded (sic) St. Patrick's School, Maple Grove,
graduating from Reedsville High School in 1934. She was also a 1936 graduate of
Manitowoc County Normal and received her BA Degree from Silver Lake College in
1969. She was a teacher for 26 years, the last 17 years at St. Mary's School,
Clarks Mills. She married Arndt Pederson, April 28, 1945, at Maple Grove. She
was a member of St. Mary's Christian Mothers, the American Legion Auxillary
since 1945, and was active in Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Silver Lake College
Alumni Association.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Terry Pederson, rural
Valders; three daughters and sons-in-law, Judith Pederson and John Schmidt,
Madison, Jeannine and Tim Vetting, Howard, Ohio, Joan and Randy Sohlden, Manitowoc;
one sister, Helen (Wally) Freis, Manitowoc; ten grandchildren, Bradley, Angela,
Melissa, Vincent Pederson, Nathaniel, Nicholas, Alexis, Anna Schmidt-Pederson,
Adam, Alexis Sohlden; one brother-in-law and five sisters-in-law, Marie Welch,
Manitowoc, Ruth Fitzmaurice, Mount Dora, Fla., Mary Fitzmaurice, Greenbeldt, Md.,
Violet and Norbert Kustka, Florida and Manitowoc, Junette Pederson, rural Manitowoc.
She is further survived by many loved nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband on April 19, 1988, an infant daughter,
Shelia, five brothers, Walter, Gene, Larry and Joseph Fitzmaurice, Edmund Welch.
Friends may call at St. Mary's Church on Thursday from 4 p.m. until the time of
service.
The Chrisianson-Deja Funeral Home, Valders, is serving the family.
