Catherine C. Pech, age 90, of 2121 Kelner St., Manitowoc, died Thursday evening, Jan. 13, 2011, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc. Catherine was born on July 29, 1920, in Thorp, Wis., daughter of the late Oscar and Philomena (Wagner) Peterson. She attended schools in Manitowoc and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1938.She married Quentin J. Pech on Aug. 16, 1941, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on Feb. 4, 1985. Catherine was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. She enjoyed flower gardening, word puzzles and traveling.Catherine was a strong-willed independent person, with a loving and caring spirit. She was very thankful to have the ability to live her 90 years independently. She enjoyed having lunch with her grandchildren and in later years spending time with her great-grandchildren.
Survivors include one son and a daughter-in-law: David J. and Cindy Pech, Manitowoc; four grandchildren: Carol Pech, Madison, Cameron (Dayna) Goetz, Manitowoc, Jessica Pech, Washington D.C., Jonathon (Gretchen) Pech, Manitowoc; three great-grandchildren: Zachary, Carson, and Callie Goetz, Manitowoc; special friends: Marilyn Drumm, Manitowoc, Pat Gruber, Manitowoc and the Rick Konop family. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Her husband: Quentin Pech; one son: Don J. Pech; one brother: Harold Peterson; three sisters: Lucille Lutz; Gladys Hollander; Ruemilda Peterson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, at St. Francis of Assisi Church-Waldo Site, North 14th and Waldo Boulevard, Manitowoc. The Rev. Dan Felton will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m.
The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is assisting the Pech family.The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Holy Family Memorial Medical Center for the special care given to Catherine and also River's Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center.
