Mrs. Esther A. Palmer, 92, formerly of 1500 N. 3rd Street, Manitowoc, died late
Wednesday evening, September 19, 1990 at North Ridge Care Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 1 pm Saturday at the First Lutheran Church Rev. Richard
Lind will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
The former Esther Schwarz was born December 21, 1897 in Sheboygan, the daughter
of the late William and Amalie Borchers Schwarrz She attended schools in Sheboygan
and as a child moved to Spokane, Washington. On February 21, 1916 she was married
to Frank Palmer in Spokane, Washington. They moved back to the Manitowoc area in
1922. He preceded her in death in 1967. She had worked at the J.C. Penney Company
and later at Johnson HIlls Company as a Seamstress, retiring in 1976. Mrs. Palmer
was a member of First Lutheran Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include one daughter, Val McKee of Manitowoc; one daughter-in-law, Nellie
Palmer of Martinsville, Indiana; one brother and sister-in-law, William and Helen
Schwarz of Two Rivers; a best friend, Frances Altvater of Manitowoc; five
grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; also nieces
and nephews survive. She was preceded in death by one son, Wayne, an infant son,
one brother, Arnold Schwarz; two sisters, Meta White and Lydia Peebles.
Friends may call at the First Lutheran church on Saturday from 11 am until the time
of services. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Reinbold and Pfeffer
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
