DR. L. MERRILL PASSES AWAY AT CHICAGO
Body of Former Local Man to Be Brought Here to Rest
Dr. Llewellyn Merrill, former resident of this city, died at his home at Chicago
Saturday evening at 7 o’clock, his demise being due to an attack of pleural
pneumonia from which he had suffered only a short time. The body will be brought
here tonight on the Chicago and North Western limited train and will be taken to
the Urbanek and Wattawa chapel. The funeral will be held tomorrow morning with
services at 11 o’clock at St. James Episcopal church and burial will be at the
family lot at Evergreen.
Dr. Merrill was born in this city about fifty-five years ago and spent his boyhood
here. After completing the high school course he went to college and was ordained
as a minister of the Episcopal faith. He retired from the ministry and for a number
of years has been a practicing physician at Chicago where his death occurred.
Surviving him are the widow and one daughter, Elizabeth, and one sister, Mrs.
George Bass, also of Chicago.
