Mrs. Esther B. Luisier, 84, formerly of 843 Summit Street, Manitowoc, died Tuesday
morning, May 9, 1989 at St. Mary Home, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 11 am
Friday, May 12, at First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Rev.
Arno J. Wolfgramm will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Luisier was born March 19, 1905 in the Township of Kolberg, Door County,
Wisconsin, daughter of the late Herman and Ida Karnitz Neinas. She grew up and
was educated in Door County. She married Alvin M. Luisier Sr. on June 12, 1923
at Kolberg Lutheran Church, Door County. After her marriage she lived in Manitowoc.
Her husband preceded her in death on January 14, 1974. Mrs. Luisier was a member
of First German Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid Society of the
church.
Survivors include three sons, Clifford Luisier of Manitowoc, Alvin and Dorothe
Luisier Jr., of Manitowoc and Raymond Luisier and his fiancée, Margaret Urbanek
of Manitowoc; five grandchildren, James B. Luisier of Manitowoc, Dr. David Luisier
of Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, Jennifer Martin of Fort Atkinson, Lindy Rae Backus of
Manitowoc and Daniel Luisier of Manitowoc; nine great grandchildren; two brothers
and sisters-in-law, Irvin and Evelyn Nienas of Algoma, Wisconsin and Herman and
Madeline Nienas of Brussels, Wisconsin; three sisters, Agnes Dickinson of Sturgeon
Bay, Wisconsin, Bertha Miller of Brussels, and Elnora Haegle of Algoma; and two
sisters-in-law, Freida Nienas of Brussels and Sylvia Nienas of Sturgeon Bay,
Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by three brothers; a sister and a daughter-in-
law, Dolores Luisier.
Friends may call at Reinbold Pfeffer Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc,
5 pm to 9 pm Thursday and Friday at the church from 10 am to the time of services.
Memorials may be made to the First German Evangelical Lutheran Church Building
Fund.
