Viola C. Luedtke, age 92, formerly of 2914 Coolidge Place, Manitowoc,
died on Wednesday morning, June 27, 2007, at Shady Lane Nursing Care
Center.
The former Viola Havlovitz was born on July 31, 1914, in the town of
Gibson, daughter of the late Mathew and Elizabeth (Chizek) Havlovitz.
She grew up in the town of Gibson and attended local schools. On Dec.
29, 1936, Viola was married to Clarence W. Luedtke at Immanuel
Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. The couple made their home
in Manitowoc, and Clarence preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 1983. In
the past, Viola worked for the Mirro Aluminum Company. She was a
member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church.
She was the dear mother of Carol (Earl) Grupe, Oak Creek; beloved grandmother of Lori (Mark) Kiser, Omaha, Neb.; and John (Tanya) Grupe, Mosinee; proud great-grandmother of Adam, Caleb and Daniel Kiser; and Jerel and Kayla Grupe. She is further survived by one brother and sister-in-law: Emil (Helen) Havlovitz, rural Mishicot. Nieces, nephews other relatives and friends survive.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and seven sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2007,
at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2426 N. Rapids Road, Manitowoc.
The Revs. Robert Kujawski and Stephen Melso will officiate, with
burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may
call at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of services
at 11 a.m.
Memorial donations in Viola's name would be appreciated for Bethany
Evangelical Lutheran Church grade school.
The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is serving
the Luedtke family.
