Lawrence Lockhart, 70, of 844 Summit St., Manitowoc, died Friday afternoon
at Park Lawn Nursing Home, Manitowoc, where he had been a patient for 2 1/2
years.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Paul Methodist Church,
Manitowoc. The Rev. Donald Stannard will officiate and burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Lockhart was born Aug. 2, 1901, at Frankfort, Mich., son of the late Adam
Lockhart and Josephine Lockhart. He graduated from high school at Frankfort
and then served in the U.S. Coast Guard for four years. He then moved to
Chicago. He married Elfrieda Hoffman Aug. 3, 1925 and the couple resided in
Chicago until 1939 when they moved to Manitowoc. Mr. Lockhart worked as a
butcher in many stores in Manitowoc, the most recent being Stangels Super Valu
where he was forced to leave due to ill health. Mr. Lockhart was a member of
St. Paul Methodist Church, the United Commercial Travelers and the Manitowoc
Masonic Lodge No. 65 F. & A.M.
Survivors include his wife, his mother, Mrs. Josephine Lockhart of Frankfort,
a son, a daughter, a brother, Ray of Jackson, Mich., a sister, Miss Ina
Lockhart of Frankfort, three grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 3 p.m. Sunday until
noon Monday and then at the church until the time of service.
