JONATHAN J. LESLIE

Jonathan James Leslie, age 16, of 4708 Racquet Club Drive, Arlington, Texas, died
Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001 at Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, of
injuries incurred in an automobile accident.
Jonathan was born Oct. 14, 1985 in Fort Worth, Texas, son of John and Jane McDonald
Leslie. He attended Martin High School in Arlington, Texas. As a sophomore, he was
a member of the Martin Warrior Junior Varsity Ice Hockey Team. Jonathan loved
hockey, a passion that began when he played on a roller hockey team as a younger
boy. He was winger for the Arlington warriors and was named "Rookie of the Year"
last year, and was particularly proud of scoring a "hat trick," which is three goals
in one game against Highland Park last session. Jonathan, a talented artist, was also
a good student being enrolled in three Advanced Placement classes in his sophomore
year. He loved playing golf with his brother and grandfather when vacationing in
Manitowoc every summer. He dreamed of attending the University of Notre Dame, his
father's alma mater. He talked about wanting to be a lawyer and also had an interest
in the high-tech industry, possibly a lawyer for somebody like Microsoft.
He is survived by his parents: John and Jane McDonald Leslie; a brother, Michael; and
a sister, Hannah, all of Arlington, Texas; maternal grandparents: Jim and Ellen
McDonald, Manitowoc; paternal grandmother: Gertrude Leslie, Oshkosh; maternal great-
grandmothers: Mrs. Norbert McDonald and Mrs. Imelda Martin, both of Two Rivers; aunts:
Mary McDonald, Manitowoc; Mrs. Thomas Lowther, Oshkosh; and one uncle: Dr. Edward
Leslie, Waukegan, Ill.
Funeral services were held 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001 at First United Methodist
Church, Arlington, Texas.

Friday, Nov. 23.
A Jonathan Leslie Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established for the Arlington Hockey
Association. Contributions may be made payable to the Arlington Hockey Association and
sent to the attention of Mr. John Leslie, 4708 Racquet Club Drive, Arlington, TX 76017
Jonathan's family made a gift of his organs to the Life Gift Program of Fort Worth,
Texas. In the hearts of family and friends we are blessed to know, Jonathan will live
on in many lives.
His infectious smile will be missed by all. We will miss Jonathan terribly, but we will
love and remember Jonathan forever.
