BREAK IN DOOR FIND WOMAN ON FLOOR DYING
Mrs. Amelia(sic) Leiteritz Suffers a Cerebral Hemmorhage
Found unconscious in her rooms at the home of Mrs. Berndt, 1026 South Thirteenth
street when neighbors became alarmed at her non-appearance and broke in the door,
Mrs. Amelia Leiteritz died at the Holy Family hospital last night, death being
due to a cerebral hemorrhage. Mrs. Leiteritz had apparently suffered a stroke as
she was preparing to retire for the night as she was only partly clothed and was
found lying on the floor. Mrs. Berndt, at whose home she had rented the upstairs
rooms, had seen her at about 9 o'clock Sunday evening. When she failed to appear
the next morning she became anxious and at noon summoned assistance and entered
the rooms to find Mrs. Leiteritz's unconscious form on the floor. She was removed
to the hospital where she died without regaining consciousness.
Mrs. Leiteritz was 64 years of age and has made this city her home for many years,
the family residing on Green street. Several years after the death of her husband
she sold the home and took up her residence on South Thirteenth street. One brother
is the only surviving member of the the family.
