Dale E. Lange, age 79, computer scientist and Manitowoc native, died on Monday,
Sept. 30, 2008, at Northridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Manitowoc,
following a brief illness.
Dale was born on Jan. 19, 1929, to the late Erwin and Julia (Reindl) Lange. In
the 1980's, he gained a master's degree in computer science from the University
of Denver, and was recognized as the top student in his class. Mr. Lange was one
of the earliest to recognize the future significance of the early rudimentary

him to positions of high responsibility with the Bendix Company, where he was a
technical troubleshooter traveling the world over. He later became a part of the
team at what would become the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Ala.,
computing the trajectories required for the early manned space missions. Mr.
Lange was a long-time resident of Denver, Colo., where he was an avid skier and
tennis player. Returning to Manitowoc after retiring, he enjoyed long walks along
Maritime Bay and the countryside, as well as classical and contemporary music.
(Survivors omitted for privacy.)
Dale was preceded in death by his sister: Marilyn Banker Zuehlke.
Deacon Paul Kieffer will officiate with private burial to follow at Evergreen
Cemetery.

Parkside Crematory and Chapel, 612 N. Water St., Manitowoc, from 10 a.m. until the
time of the memorial service at 11 a.m.
