EARLY DAY PRINTER OF CITY IS DEAD
Carl Lange, one of the early day printers of Manitowoc has received "30."
The last call on life's copy and passed away at his home on So. Thirteenth
street early today, aged 77. Mr. Lange was born in Germany in 1842 and came
to Manitowoc in 1851 and had since made his home here. He was married in
1869, his wife passing away about thirty years ago. Mr. Lange learned the
printer's trade in the old Nordwesten office and later was street commissioner
of the city. Death was due to complications growing out of rheumatism from
which he had long suffered. Two children, Charles and Emma survive. The funeral
will be held Tuesday, from the home, the Rev. Machmiller officiating.
