LONG ILLNESS PROVES FATAL
William Hoefner, 78, Dies Wednesday Night On Route 3
William Hoefner, 78, died at the home of his son, Alfred, Route 3, Wednesday
night. Death followed a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 1:30 from the home and at
two oclock from the Lutheran church at Newton. Burial will be made in the
church cemetery.
Born July 23, 1857 in Newton, Mr. Hoefner farmed until he retired several
years ago. He was married in 1885 to Elizabeth Bremer, who died five years
ago.
Survivors include his son, Alfred, a brother, Henry C. Hoefner of Newton, a
sister, Mrs. Carl Kieselhorst, Manitowoc, and a grandchild.
The body will be removed to the home from the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei
funeral home Friday where it may be viewed until time of services Monday.
