MARIA GLANDER

Mrs. John Glander, 79, of 726A N. 10th St., Manitowoc, died Friday at Memorial
Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at First German Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. N. W. Kock will officiate and burial will
be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Glander, the former Maria Giese, was born March 25, 1887, in Town of Gibson,
daughter of the late Frank and Emily Schultz Giese. She came to Manitowoc when
six years of age and attended the Lutheran parochial school. She was married to
Mr. Glander, president of Glander Art Studio Inc., May 12, 1910, and he preceded
her in death Feb. 15, 1953.
Survivors are a son, Henry, of Manitowoc; a daughter, Mrs. William (Carmen)
Somerville, of Glenville, Ill.; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 6 o’clock
this Friday evening until 11 a.m. Saturday when the casket will be moved to the
church and the body lie in state until time of service.

YOUNG COUPLE WED
John Glander and Marie Giese Married This Morning
With a simple but pretty ceremony, Rev. Machmiller officiating, Miss Marie Giese
and John Glander both of this city, were united in marriage this morning at nine
o'clock, the ceremony taking place at the bride's home, 504 Buffalo Street. Only
a few relatives being present. The couple left for a short trip to Portage. Mr.
Glander is engaged in the photography business on Washington Street and is well
known, particularly on the West and South sides. Until two years ago he was in
Packard studio and later engaged in business for himself. Miss Giese is a daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. F. Giese and is a popular girl. After their return, Mr. and Mrs.
Glander will reside at Eighteenth and Clark Streets.
