Charles Geiger, 79, of 421 N. Fifth St., Manitowoc, died Monday noon at Holy
Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a lingering illness. Funeral services will
be at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Urbanek & Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc and at 9 a.m.
Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Claude LeClair officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Geiger was born December 25, 1882 at Kasson in Manitowoc County, son of the
late Bartholemew and Wilhelmine Firtch Geiger. He married Millie Kabat at Reedsville
and operated a meat market at Manitowoc until his retirement several years ago. He
was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Holy Name Society of his church. His
wife died in 1947.
Among survivors are a son, Lawrence of Manitowoc; a daughter, Mrs. Joseph Hamilton
of Texas; a sister, Mrs. Harry Mikow of Milwaukee; two step-brothers, Joseph Traxler
of Omro and Frank Traxler of Oskhosh and a step-sister, Mrs. Frank Blechl of Oshkosh;
eight grandchildren and a great grandchild.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home where the Rosary will be
recited at 7:30 p.m. Friends are asked to use the Ninth Street entrance.
