MRS. FRANKE, PIONEER, DIES SUNDAY, AGE 87
Death Sudden Though Decedent Has Failed for Months
Ailing for the past six months but never in a critical condition, Mrs. Albertina
Franke, a resident of the city for the past sixty years, passed away at her home
at 1019 Division street Sunday morning at 4:30 o’clock, death being due to
infirmities incident to old age.
Mrs. Franke, nee Colell, was born in Pomerania, Germany, November 4th, 1838, and
was married to William Franke sixty-five years ago. Her husband died January 5th,
1917, and five children also preceded her in death. She is survived by six
daughters, Mrs. Amelia Jahnke of Chicago, Mrs. Phillip Tuelp of Salem, Wisconsin,
Mrs. William Schroder, Mrs. Fred W. Rockho??, Mrs. William Sampe, and Mrs. Em??
Hacker, all of his city, and two sons, Henry of this city and Em?? of Winnipeg,
Canada, besides twenty-one grand children and thirty-two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon from the family home at 1:30
o’clock and from the Evangelical Lutheran church at 2 o’clock, the Rev. Karl
Machmiller officiating. Burial will be made in the Evergreen cemetery.
