Loretta E Bennett, 93, Hop Bottom, PA, died November 8, 2003, at Tyler Memorial Hospital, Tunkhannock, PA. Her husband, Richard D Bennett, died in 1989.
Born in Scranton, Pa, daughter of the late Ernest and Lillian Sweet Wilbur, she was a 65-year West Lenox Baptist Church member. She loved baking, cooking and helping people in her community.
Surviving are three sons, Samuel, Greenville, SC, Thomas, Monroe, Conn, George, Kingsley, Pa; a daughter, Lillian Phillips Lockwood, Hop Bottom, Pa; two brothers, Wesley Wilbur, Hop Bottom, Pa, Ernest Wilbur, Nicholson, Pa; four sister, Doris Hayes, Kingsley, Pa, Lillian Jurista Tunkhannock, Pa, Alice Pratt, Hallstead, Pa, Mary Jenkins, Elmira. NY; 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Floyd.
Funeral services will be held 11 am, November 12, 2003, in West Lenox Baptist Church with services by the Rev. Lee Mead and Loretta's son, the Rev. Samuel Bennett. Interment will be in West Lenox Cemetery.
