Son of the late Oth and Gertrude Maddron, he was a veteran of the United States Navy (WWII). He was a graduate of Tusculum College (1959) with a degree in biology and chemistry. He earned a master's degree in education from East Tennessee State University. He held a position with the Oak Ridge Institute of Nuclear Studies. He moved to Florida in 1959 to work with the Orange County Public Schools. Over the years, his work as the system's science supervisor brought honors for a number of projects including programs with the Orlando Science Center, EPCOT's Land Pavilion and the Amercian Heart Association, Central Florida Chapter. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winter Park, FL. He was survived by his wife of 50 years, Theresa Anderson Maddron; sons, Dwayne Maddron and Kevin Maddron; daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Maddron; two grandchildren, Nicholas Maddron and Grace Maddron; and an extended family of relatives and many friends. His funeral was held on January 19, 2010, at the First Baptist Church of Winter Park, FL.
