Bedford Arnold Newberry, 75, of Crossville, passed away June 16, 2003. Funeral services were conducted June 18 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens. The Rev. Roland Smith officiated.
Mr. Newberry was born Aug. 11, 1927 in Livingston, TN, the son of Ben Carson Newberry and Rebecca Ledford Newberry.
He was in construction and a member of Central Baptist Church. He also served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Cox Newberry of Crossville; son, Robert Newberry of Lincolnton, GA; daughter, Brenda Adams of Aiken, SC; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Kirby Newberry of Cookeville and Bennie and Woodrow Newberry of Crossville; sisters, Flora Hover of Florida, Oleta Cox of Crossville, Anna Shumway of Ohio and Josie Williams of Florida.
In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Peggy Simon and Faith, Hope and Charity Newberry.
Pallbearers were Todd, David, Gary, Tommy, Tim, Brian and Jerry Newberry.
Honorary pallbearers were the Senior Men's Sunday School Class at Central Baptist.
Bilbrey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
