He was born on September 16, 1941 in Reed City to Daniel and Florence (Halliday) Dyer. He married Nancy Cornelius on Aug. 12, 1960.
Mr. Dyer served with the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was employed at Rancor Corp. in Reed City. He later worked for the city of Reed City and retired in 1994 for health reasons.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy; daughter, Roxanne (Kenneth) Phillips of Irons; grandchildren, Angel (Greg) Hooper of Reed City, and Misty (Joseph) Barnett of Evart; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara Jean Hite and Elizabeth Faulkner, both of Newaygo; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, William Francis; and brothers, Eugene and Allwyn.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pruitt-Livingston Funeral Home in Reed City with Rev. Phil Shangraw officiating. Burial will be at Park Hill Cemetery in Paris.
Visitation is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
