Pvt. Jacob Doyle of the 156th Battallion died in England of influenza. His body was returned to Throoptown for burial.

Son of the late James and Mary Ann Doyle; brother of Miss Blanche Doyle of Throoptown, Ontario.

Sapper Jacob Doyle is commemorated on Page 533 of Canada's First World War Book of Remembrance.

DEATH: [Per Bill DOYLE, son of Jacob's brother George A. DOYLE]: Jacob got through his war service okay, then while being deloused in Liverpool to go home after the war, he contracted influenza and died there 2 Feb 1919.
