Lois Lucille "Lucy" Stratton was born in McCallsburg, Iowa, December 28, 1907, the daughter of James and Jessie Bruner Webb and sister of Mabel, Hazel, Rose, and Glenn. She was raised by her father's sister Erma Blanche Webb Schulz and her husband, Winferd. She graduated from McCallsburg High school in 1924. On January 29, 1927, she was united in marriage to Eldon F. Stratton in Plover, Iowa. To this union four children were born; Lois, Paul, Janie, and Mary Lou. She was a hard-working farm wife and homemaker. She was active in school functions and church activities in the Maxwell Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing cards. She loved spending time each summer at their cabin on Pleasant Lake, near Hackensack, Minnesota. Lucy and Eldon also spent many winters in Brownsville, Texas. After retirement from farming, they made their permanent home at Prairie Village in Huxley, Iowa. She passed away Saturday, May 10, 1997, at Rolling Green Village in Nevada, Iowa of complications of a stroke. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1985, one brothers and three sisters. She is survived by one son, three daughters, 12 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
