Served in the Civil War, Company G-31st Ohio Regiment, wounded in the skirmish at Mission Ridge 1861, marched with Sherman on his March-to-the-Sea. Lifelong resident of Perry County. Last surviving member of Perry County's G.A.R, Post 366. At age 16, he came across Lincoln's campaign train and shook hands with him (see New Lexington News Article). Buried New Lexington Maplewood Cemetery. Occupation - Stationary Engineer for 30 years for the NY Central RR System, New Lexington Oh. Religion - Methodist.
